New Homes Week - Answering your FAQs
As part of New Homes Week, we’re excited to address some of the most common questions and misconceptions about new builds. Continue reading to see us answer some of your FAQs and provide valuable insights into the benefits of choosing a Stonebridge home.
‘New builds are small and lack space around them’
Let’s bust this myth straightaway as it’s simply not true with a Stonebridge home. We build good sized properties with our 3-bedrooms starting at an impressive 856 sq ft, and we build 5-beds that are over 3,000 sq ft. The majority of our homes have ample space for wardrobes, and externally our fenced, rear gardens provide space to run around and entertain, with paved patios and turfed gardens included.
What help can you offer buyers?
On selected plots, options include: Part Exchange, Assisted Move and Own New (low mortgage rates/help with deposit). We also have Shared Ownership properties available on some developments. Please speak to our Sales Advisors to find out about the different ways you can buy and what is available on your chosen development.
What personal choices can I make with a Stonebridge home?
If you reserve your new home in the early stages of the build, you have the option to choose all your extras including your kitchen and bathroom tiling. You can also choose to add your own individual touches with extras such as flooring and fitted furniture. Please speak to our Sales Advisors to get a full list of choices available.
Do new builds come with a guarantee?
Yes, all of our new homes come with a 2-year build warranty provided by Stonebridge Homes, and a 10-year structural warranty with Premier Guarantee.
This provides peace of mind and a reassurance re the quality of your new home.
What’s it like living in a new build community?
Moving into a new build development can offer several social benefits including the opportunity to form new friendships with neighbours (and the site team!), participate in community events, and enjoy a safe and well-maintained environment. A strong sense of community can also contribute to overall happiness and well-being.
How sustainable are new build homes compared to older homes?
New build homes are considered to be more energy efficient than older properties due to modern building techniques, high quality insulation materials and advanced appliances installed which often result in significantly lower energy bills for homeowners: making them more efficient overall. Building regulations mandate higher energy efficiency standards for new builds with the superior insulation, double glazing, even triple glazing in some instances minimizing heat loss and therefore costing the customers less. Additional items such as wastewater heat recovery, flue gas heat recovery, photo voltaic panels (also known as solar panels) combined with batteries further add to the above. In all our homes. we also use energy efficient lightbulbs everywhere, dual flush toilets and smart thermostats as standard.
