Community Fund

Over the last few years, we have launched a community fund in a number of locations, which the aim of encouraging local charities and organisations to benefit from a pot of £10,000.

What is the community fund?

The fund aims to support as many local groups as possible, and so far, has been launched in three of Stonebridge’s development locations; Harrogate, Wakefield and Barnard Castle.

Stonebridge recognises that the last few years have been particularly difficult for many organisations, and hopes that donations can offer financial support to those who work tirelessly for a community scheme, and for those whose funding avenues may have been in short supply.

Who has benefited from the community fund?

So far, individual grants of varying sizes have been provided to organisations such as schools, sports clubs, community centres, churches, street kitchens and more, as well as a variety of charities in the chosen local areas.

Below are a couple of examples:

St Mary’s Chequerfield Community Project received a grant of £500 in 2022. They said: “The funding is being spent on supporting a weekly lunch group for the older age group. It is particularly welcome in the present climate, as warm spaces and social activities for this age group are very much in demand. Thank you so much for your generous donation, it’s making such a difference to our community!”

Harrogate Easier Living Project also received a £500 grant, they said: “The £500 covered the costs of delivering our ‘Here to HELP’ services supporting people in the Harrogate district to live safe and well at home. The grant was to cover costs, such as PPE, cleaning materials for volunteers, safety handbooks for our staff and a pot to cover emergency shopping trips where the client is unable to repay us.”

Our community fund is not live at the moment, but as we continue to grow and expand, we plan to continue offering the £10,000 community fund to more local communities in the future.
