Fundraising for 'wear it pink' day

At the end of a very successful #wearitpink day, CEO Darren Stubbs commented “A personal thank you from me to everyone at Stonebridge Homes who joined in on our ‘wear it pink’ day on 2nd October in support of breast cancer care; we raised over £500! This is a charity close to my heart and I couldn’t be more proud of how #teamstonebridge responded to the challenge of wearing pink in so many different (and some fairly unusual) guises. We had a fun day, whilst respecting that this is an important cause. As one of our colleagues commented ‘check your boobies – and that goes for the men too!’ That’s good advice.”

One of our colleagues was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and has literally just been discharged from hospital where we are delighted to advise that she is classed as being in remission. She is having weekly check-ups and physio but she assures us that all is well. We have all been amazed by her positive attitude and desire to live life to the full.

We are also proud to support ‘Pink Events, a north Leeds-based charity founded by Sarah Pattinson after her sister Kimberley O’Rourke was diagnosed with breast cancer. They have raised over £200,000.

‘Breast cancer now’ aims to ensure no one dies from breast cancer by 2050. To do this they need to fund cutting-edge research. The charity funds over 360 of the brightest minds in breast cancer research across the UK and Ireland, and by doing so, they are discovering how we can prevent breast cancer, save lives and live well with the disease. This gives them the power to drive forward progress on a global stage.
