The Leeds-based housebuilder is soon to launch its biggest development to date as part of the new £50 million mixed use scheme which will transform Stocksbridge Town Centre.
As she carried out an official soil cutting ceremony, Ms. Smith commented: “We are all well aware of the need for more high-quality housing in local communities such as Stocksbridge, so it is very exciting to see such a fantastic development taking place here with Stonebridge Homes.”
Fox Valley will see the building of 118 new homes, with a range of designs available – from one bedroom apartments to 2, 3 & 4 bedroom semi-detached and 3 & 4 bedroom detached homes. The first properties are being released imminently, with Stonebridge Homes expecting demand to be huge as Carol Gunn, Head of Sales & Marketing, explains: “Since it was announced that we were coming to Stocksbridge, the enquiry levels have been unprecedented. There seems to be enormous interest from both first time buyers and families looking to move up to something bigger”.
The development forms part of a bigger overall scheme including 144,000 sq.ft. of new retail space and 60,000 sq.ft. of new offices brought forward by the award winning Barnsley based developers Dransfield Properties.
Mark Dransfield, Managing Director at Dransfield Properties, said: “It is fantastic news that another Yorkshire company, Stonebridge Homes, is investing in the area and has started work on the housing site next to our Fox Valley retail and office development.
“The whole development is really coming together now and this further investment in the area coupled with the quality of the retailers who are opening here this summer shows the confidence that exists in this part of north Sheffield as a great place to live, work and shop. We look forward to seeing the Stonebridge show homes when they are completed this summer.”
As demand is expected to be so high, customers are being urged to register on the Stonebridge Homes website to receive further updates on the first release of homes. Details can be found at www.stonebridgehomes.co.uk or by calling 0113 357 1204.
